My Beautiful Family

Welcome!  My name is Tina Barton.  My husband and I have been married for 30 years.  We have six amazing children and our youngest, Matthew, has Down syndrome.  Because of medical complications involving his digestive tract, he has a g-tube and is restricted to a pureed oral diet (check out Matthew’s Story).  Having to deal with Matthew’s special dietary needs on a daily basis has been a challenge and has brought me to a realization.  I am not the only one going through this.  There are other families with special needs children and adults as well as families with aging adults who have a g-tube or are unable to eat a regular diet.  It was at that point that I knew I must share what I have learned over the years.

I have had the privilege of being a stay-at-home-mom which means I have living on a budget down to a science.  It has not been easy but it has always been rewarding.  Our family has endured many lay-offs and that is where my skills come in.  This blog, whether you or someone you know has dietary restrictions or not, will not only show you the benefit of making quick and healthy whole food meals with your Vitamix but will also show you how to save money doing it.  Each recipe comes with tips to show you how to do all three.20160725_212101

This is not your typical recipe blog.  It is set up to gain a variety of information on managing  pureed, blenderized and restrictive diets as well as eating well and thriving in a fast food world. Take some time and navigate through the menu.  There is something here for everyone!

If you or any one you know uses a feeding tube and needs help transitioning from a from formula, please feel free to Contact Me.
